Solar Construction Starter Electrician
Skills required:
- Industry or trade experience in solar is considered an asset
- Exceptional communication skills – both verbal and written
- Exceptional organizational skills
- Ability to prioritize and multitask in a demanding environment
- Ability to take direction and follow instructions
- Comfortable at heights & on sloped roofs
- Ability to repeatedly lift 70+lbs
- Proven safety attitude
- Excellent attendance history
- A clean, professional demeanour is very important
- Comfortable and willing to work on projects out of town
- Self-motivated and calm under pressure
- Must have a strong work ethic, focus, and accountability to meeting metrics
- Able to work effectively in teams as well as independently
- Reliable transportation to work sites or the Gridworks shop
- Must ensure that you have your own PPE including CSA or ANSI Class I approved safety footwear (ankle support height with green triangle), hard hat and high visibility all weather clothing
Responsibilities:
- Coordinating project tools, equipment and supplies to ensure all required items are prepared for transport to installation sites
- Inspecting your work to ensure the installation of components meet specifications
- Complete daily site checks
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment
- Measure, cut, and assemble the support structure for solar PV modules
- Erecting and assembling ground mount racking and panels
- Fastening racking sustems to support the solar PV modules
- Assist with the setup and tear down of job sites
- Committed to safe work practices in accordance with safety prodecured and policies
Certificates:
- First Aid – preferred not required
- Fall Arrest – required
- Mobile Elevated Work Platform – required
- Drivers License – required
- Criminal background check and driver abstract – required
- CSTS 2020 – required
- (NOC 7241) Solar Photovoltaic (PV) Systems – preferred not required
- Fire Safety & Extinguisher training – preferred but not required

As a Starter Electrician you will have the opportunity to become an indentured Apprentice Electrician.
Full-time and could lead to a permanent position
Starting wage: $18-$22/hr for the qualified candidate
