Solar Construction Journeyman/Woman Electrician

Skills required:

  • Minimum 2 years’ solar installation experience required
  • Organize and maintain your installation crew
  • Manage material and equipment effectively
  • Manage apprentice needs and manage expectations effectively
  • Ensure work is completed in an efficient and safe manner
  • Maintain project timelines and expectations
  • Maintain a clean worksite every day.
  • Clean, professional demeanor is very important
  • Manage schedule on the fly and alert project manager (PM) of any delays or concerns
  • Keep an open line of communication with PM.projects.
  • Directs and reviews the installation of all certification-based electrical components, follows manufacturers’ installation recommendations.
  • Ability to create, review and approve electrical schematics.
  • Maintain work vehicle & organize material
  • Effectively supervise workers and distribute workload to maximize project productivity Submit paperwork & documents to the Project Manager in a timely manner
  • Log and submit time via software & safety documents daily
  • Position could lead to more opportunities such as instructing solar courses throughout Canada.

Responsibilities:

  • The mechanical and electrical integration of solar and electrical equipment
  • Lead individual or a team of apprentices
  • Install solar PV systems, EV charging infrastructure, and lighting retro-fits as per drawings, SLD’s and schematics, + more
  • Installation of DC and AC coupled battery systems like the Tesla PowerWall
  • Perform maintenance and repairs on electrical equipment and tools.
  • Maintain and repair or call for replacement of electrical safety equipment.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results on other tasks for each project.
  • Estimates and organizes time and parts required for jobs.
  • Assures quality control standards are met for all projects and levels of projects

Certificates:

  • First Aid – preferred not required
  • Fall Arrest – required
  • Drivers License – required
  • Aerial Lift – preferred not required
  • (NOC 7241) Solar Photovoltaic (PV) Systems – preferred but not required
  • Criminal background check drivers abstract – required

Full-time and could lead to a permanent position

Starting wage: $32 to $42/hr for the qualified candidate
Position could lead to more opportunities such as instructing solar courses throughout Canada. Instructing wage increases to $65/hr – $100/hr depending on course location

Work remotely occasionally.

Salary: $85,000.00-$150,000.00 per year
